First tooth fairy visit

Yes, the tooth fairy came to our house. Chase had bumped his knee into his mouth a few months ago and his front tooth became loose. At the time, it didn't need to be pulled but at our last dentist appointment the dentist discovered it was infected and needed to be pulled out. He offered to pull it out that same day but I felt I needed time to prep Chase for what was going to happen and prep myself as well. When the dentist told me it needed to be pulled, I was almost in tears. First  because he is still so young and second I didn't want him to have a hole there for so long (It will be at least 2 years) but I knew I just needed to accept that it was going to happen and there were just no other options. I talked to Chase about what was going to happen but also told him about the tooth fairy so of course he was okay with it. I told him we can make a tooth fairy pillow and that very night we were at the store picking out fabric because he was so excited.

I had to get one more picture with his cute adorable smile

But it is still cute and adorable smile even with one missing tooth.

Chase woke up happy the next morning to find that the tooth fairy left two dollars and the tooth fairy even let him keep his first tooth. His tooth fairy left him him a note about how brave he was at the dentist and to be more careful when playing so he won't bump any more teeth. He also found out that his tooth fairy's name is Jasmin.

Here he is with the tooth fairy pillow that I made.

He picked out the fire fabric and ribbon color all by himself and is very proud of it.
And I am proud of him, he was so good at the dentist and there were no tears!

Ear Tubes

It came as no surprise that Landon needed ear tubes. I had them when I was little, Chase has them, and with so many ear infections that Landon was had, I know it would be the best thing for him. We had to be up quite early and couldn't eat or drink anything before the surgery. I was preparing myself for a long morning with a lot of crying but he was actually really good and they had lots of toys to entertain him.

They had about 6 different kind of cars like this one and he would go from car to car spending less then one minute in each car.

Waiting patiently for his turn

They surgery went well. He woke up really upset and even with me holding him, letting him have his binky, blanket, and stuffed animal, it took me about 15 minutes to calm him down. Once he was settled down, he slept for about 30 minutes. After he woke up I was finally was able to get him to drink some liquid and then we were on our way. Chase was with his cousins so Landon and I went home and he took a 3 1/2 hour nap. After his nap he woke up happy and was back to himself. Here is to no more ear infections!

Beach Time

We been able to enjoy that beach this year more than we have before. It is an activity that keeps a smile on everyone faces (except when we have to leave). Here are the beaches we have enjoyed this summer so far.

Sylvan Beach
This beach is located in La Porte. I liked this beach because the water is very calm with very little waves. There is a roped off area for the kids to play in the water which makes it easier to keep track of the boys.

Landon seemed to enjoy this beach the most. He is not a fan of waves.

And he actually enjoyed sitting in his float which is rare.

Chase with his friend Cardin.

The dislike of this beach were the jellyfish. They were everywhere and
we caught a lot of them in our sand buckets. Luckily no one was stung.

Surfside Beach
This beach is located in Surfside which is just west of Galveston Island. We liked this beach because you can drive your car onto the beach which means, you are not hauling your stuff clear across a parking lot. Landon had fallen asleep on the way to the beach so it was nice to roll down the windows and let him sleep for awhile while we played in the sand and water.

While Landon slept, Craig and Chase enjoyed some body surfing. The waves were awesome and I think this is the best beach for body surfing.

Chase was having a good time and spent almost the whole time in the water.
He definitely is a beach bum.

Landon woke up and enjoyed watching Chase and Craig from  the shoreline

Waving hi to Chase and Craig

The only dislike of this beach is all the seaweed. There is not a lot of sand space for the kids to play because there was so much seaweed, even in the water.

Stewart Beach
This beach is located in Galveston. I like this beach because it is very clean and well maintained. This is the beach we go to the most. The kids love playing in the sand here and you can find a lot of little seashells. Yesterday, I picked up  a larger than usual seashell in the water and soon discovered there was a little crab living inside of it. The kids loved it. We put it in a sand bucket with water for awhile but it was crawling up the sides to get out so we finally decided to let it go.

We bought this yard cart when we lived in Utah and lived on a .50 acre lot. We brought it to Texas but don't use it much. Craig came up with the ingenious idea to bring it to the beach so we didn't have to carry our stuff from the car to the shoreline. It was awesome idea and worked out really well.

Landon enjoying a little relaxation time

Landon then decided he didn't want to sit in his chair but share with his cousin Ian.
These two boys are so cute!
Playing in the sand with cousins

We upgraded from a kick board to an actual body board. We looked everywhere for body boards to purchase the night before and were unsuccessful. We stopped into the Walmart in Galveston and they had a whole aisle of body boards for a very good price. We scored five of them for Chase,  his cousins, and friends. We wanted to make sure each kid had there own and they were excited.

Again Landon mostly stayed on the shore line but he did enjoy a few minutes in the water with Craig.

After taking our stuff back to the truck Craig came back with the empty wagon so  we could get all the sand washed off the kids and then we put them in the wagon so we didn't have to worry about them getting sand all over. Again ingenious idea!

It really is hard to say which beach is our favorite because we do like each beach for different reasons. We are happy to have beaches within reasonable driving distance for us to enjoy!
