Space shuttle Endeavour

The Space shuttle Endeavor landed in Houston for one day while en route to Los Angeles. Craig's parents happened to come into town the night before so we decided to go check out this one in a life time experience. We headed over in the early afternoon before people started getting off work to hopefully avoid some crowds but it was still pretty crowded and we ended walking at least a mile from our parking spot to see the space shuttle. It was well worth the walk and I am so glad we were able to see a piece of history.

We also watched a U.S. Coast Guard and Apache helicopter land.

I love this picture of Chase and Grandpa Mackay watching the U.S. Coast Guard helicopter land. This was just the beginning of our adventures with Grandpa and Grandma Mackay. Next stop was the NASA Space Center.

My four year old

Wow I can't believe Chase turned four years old. Chase has been talking about his birthday for at least the last five months, so he has waited a long time for this day to come. My four year old Chase is a very independent boy especially when it comes to playing. He has quite the imagination and loves to role play and make up conversations. You will often find my kitchen chairs lined up in a row to play airport or school bus. He also likes to "fix" things for me around the house. I think he learns that from his Dad. He will last hours working by his Dad's side doing yard work and other projects around the house. Chase is the best little worker you will find. The other day, I was still finishing my lunch and he randomly asked me if he can wash the dishes, of course I can never turn down such an offer. He also loves to help with dusting, folding laundry, and vacuuming.

Chase is very observant and curious boy who likes to learn. He pays close attention to the things around him and he asks lots of questions. He will talk about things in detail that happened months and months ago. Chase is very expressive with his words and his choices of words surprise me. He favorite words to use right now are apparently and amazing. He also uses the phrase "like two years ago" and "when I was a baby" all the time.

Chase is also very energetic boy who likes to eat apples, watermelon, and likes to ride his bike all over the neighborhood but he is also very sweet. He still loves his blanky and sleeps with his teddy bear name Brownie every night along with a few other "friends", he loves his brother and is always quick to try to make Landon happy when he is sad, he never forgets to say prayers at mealtimes, and most importantly never forgets to give his mom hugs and kisses everyday. We love Chase so much and I hope this day is special for him. Happy Birthday Chase.

September Birthdays

I got the boys pictures taken today for their birthdays. Landon's birthday is September 13 and Chase's is September 28. Landon was not very cooperative and very wiggly especially when trying to get the two boys together but I definitely do have two handsome boys. These are just a few of the pictures from today. I will post Chase's pictures when its his birthday.

Chase was trying hard to keep Landon happy

One of many pictures of Landon trying to escape

The stuffed animal was the only thing keeping this kid still

One year old

Landon turned one and he sure keeps us on our toes.  Landon loves doing everything his brother is doing including playing blocks, cars, and whatever else he can get his hands on. The thing I love the most is he loves to laugh with his brother. Other things he likes to play with are his daddy belts and door stops. He also really likes standing up against the bathtub and banging toys and he has also figured out how to turn on the water facets in my bathroom.  So this is why we also have to be watching him because he is always getting into something he shouldn’t.

He loves to eat and gets so excited about food that he flaps his arms up and down as he eats. He still eats some baby solid food but finds table food is much more interesting. He is starting to become very independent when it comes to eating. He likes to control how much food is in his mouth at one time which is usually way too much. Some of his favorite foods are pears, watermelon, and cheerios but he is not picky and will eat anything I feed him which I love.  He is also good at letting you know that he wants more food.  I will often sign all done to him and if he is okay with that he will just smile but if he is not done, he screams at the top of his lungs and gets very upset.

Landon is a superior crawler and climber but has no interest in walking. He doesn’t stand on his own although I know if he tried he would be able to do it. He is also a good sleeper. He goes to bed around 8:00 pm and will usually sleep until 5:00 am.  Once he has had some milk, he will fall back asleep until 8:00 am.  He is starting to transition from two naps a day to one nap. It usually just depends on the activities of the day.

Other things he can do is shake his head yes and no, blow kisses, plays peek -a- boo by hiding himself, and he is starting to figure out dance moves. Words that he knows are Mama, Dada, and Hi. We loves this boy and can’t wait to see what fun this next year brings!

Oh, What Do You Do in the Summertime?

What do you do in the summertime, when it is blazing hot outside?

We play in our tent

We experiment with milk and food coloring

We make and squirt paint

We swim at the pool

We pretend we have muscles

Fill our buckets up at the splash pad

We dunk our heads under water fountains

We like to be silly

And humor Mom by saying "Cheese"

Occasionally when it cools down (not by much)
We watch sit in the back of Dad truck and watch him work outside.

We had a fantastic summer but are looking forward for it to cool down so we can play at the park, go on walks and on bike rides.
